Meet The Yoga Instructors

Pernille Monto

Born and raised in Denmark, Pernille's lifelong love affair with fitness began at the age of five, when she started playing soccer. Pernille travelled extensively, lived in London, studied at Cambridge University and then moved to the United States.  Fitness has been a constant in her life as she lived in many different parts of the US, including Colorado, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Marthas Vineyard. While on the Vineyard, Pernille worked as a personal trainer and taught a variety of classes and sports such as spinning, kickboxing, step aerobics and Pilates.

At a crucial crossroads in Pernille's life, she discovered the incredible benefits of yoga, immersed herself in the yoga lifestyle and graduated from the Finding Inner Peace Yoga School. She has completed many workshops both in Europe and the US, actively deepening her practice and extending her education by exploring different styles of yoga.
As a result of such a broad range of experiences, her teaching is eclectic and flexible (ha ha).  Her desire is to help others become stronger through yoga - mentally, physically and spiritually - and better able to deal with everyday stress. Seeing the positive changes that happen in people as they start exploring or deepening a practice of yoga is a great inspiration to her.

Shauna Childs
Shauna began her yoga practice in 1998, studying with many wonderful teachers (including Lora Ziemba and Sheri Boyle).  Searching for a way to deepen her own practice, and a desire to share the many benefits of yoga with others, Shauna completed several trainings and certifications including, Finding Inner Peace, Yogafit, and Radiant Child Yoga Program.  Over the pass 10 years she has found yoga to be the most powerful way to develop and maintain physical vitality, mental clarity and a path to a joyful life. Her approach to Hatha Yoga emphasizes the integration of mind, body and breath.  Students of all levels and experience are honored and encouraged to "move at their own perfect pace".  Her yoga classes generally feature gentle stretching, flowing sequences,  and attention to alignment.  This lively practice will build core strength, flexibility and ease.  Shauna will provide a safe place where you can benefit from the grounding and stress-reducing gifts of yoga.
